Wind system

Orgelbau Krawinkel - Organ Building - Wind system – double-rise bellows
Wind system – double-rise bellows

The system by which wind is supplied to an organ depends on the overall design of the individual instrument. This system is individually designed, as are all other parts of our organs.

The way in which we generally house the (wedge-shaped) bellows is designed to supply the organ with air from above, thus creating optimum sound quality, even when all stops are pulled. The construction of the bellows guarantees that the air pressure can be distributed as required, so that the instrument can always be operated with lightly easing pressure – similar to the human breath.

Power supply

The bellows system is supplied with power from a 380 volt Ventus blower which is located in a soundproof box resting on rubber buffers.
